Michael Stumpf having fun with his iPhone
Seems that everyone I know who has an iPhone is fanatical about it. I don’t have one because I use U.S. Cellular and they don’t offer them (note to self: ask my friend Jim Holmes at U.S. Cellular if and when they will offer iPhones.)
This is a photo of my friend Michael Stumpf who owns Stumpf and Associates from Doylestown, Pennsylvania taking a photo last Friday night on Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey before we went in to have dinner at Domenico’s on the Wharf. The calamari appetizer there was unbelievable, as were the fresh California artichokes.
Mike and his lovely wife Shurley were in Monterey, along with Todd and Janna Parlee for our meeting. Todd is Michael’s partner in the agency, Michael Stumpf and Associates. Originally Todd got an iPhone for himself, and when he showed Mike everything it could do, Mike had to have one, too. Janna is totally elegant. She taught me how to wave like a real queen: ‘elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist, turn around and blow a kiss.’
Getting back to the topic of photography, it’s a good idea if you’re going to get into social media marketing that you take lots of photos and videos so you have something interesting to illustrate your writings on the web. I’ve been taking photos forever and have started taking videos, too. The video I took last week is much too large of a file so I need to learn how to reduce the file size. Sometimes I think I should ask my web designer, Julie Parenteau, to just follow me around everywhere I go so she can help me through some of my technology education. (She responds quickly to all my emails asking for help, thank goodness!)
Speaking of iPhones (and all things Apple), my friends Angus King and Mary Herman also have iPhones, and they take photos of everyone in their phone book so when they call them, they can look at the person’s photo while they talk to them. Angus took a photo of me, but it wasn’t such a great photo so I think I’d like to send him another one (perhaps a Glamour shot?) and ask him to insert it in his phone book. I wonder if that can be done? We’ll just have to see. Ahhh, vanity….

Hi Nancy, the name of the restaurant was Domenico’s on the Wharf, not Delmonicos.
Thanks Betsy. That was my fault! I will search for the correct website tonight and replace the info. By the way, thanks for hosting the meeting in Carmel. You live in a beautiful part of the country.
I fixed the link to Domenico’s on the Wharf Restaurant. Thanks to my good friend and colleague Betsy Shea!
You got my best side! Sending some of the photos separately.
Great spending time with you in Carmel. Think it was one of our best meetings yet.
We have the staff here with their heads spinning on Social Media and Search Engine Optimization.
Met with Bill Deeter yesterday. We need to build a bridge.
Follow up meeting next week.
You continue to impress me with your energy and enthusiasm. Trekking across Maine AGAIN…moving out of your home for the summer….wild and crazy and talented kids…..
What an inspiration.
Hang in there.
