I Want To Be Your Maine Man
So it’s a quiet Sunday afternoon, and I’m surfing around the internet. I stopped by the new site that we just launched for Saddleback Maine. Then I clicked on the YouTube link at the bottom of the home page and watched a few videos about Maine. I particularly liked the one about the AMC Lodges. You’ve gotta love the loon calls and the Maine guitar music.
But then I found something I had never known about: The Maine Song, a music video produced by two very funny guys named Rhett and Link from North Carolina. It was campaign Alka Seltzer part of their Great American Road Trip. And I am shocked that this music video could have been produced without the Maine PR Maven knowing about it! I’m glad I know about it now but I wonder how long this wonderful song has been in existence without me knowing about it. I feel a bit behind the curve today on what’s new and who’s doing what as the Maine PR Maven.
I’ve got the tune stuck in my head. What do they call that? Not earwax, oh yes, they call it an ear bud, right? “I want to be your Maine man, oh yea.”

Yeah they do viral commercials for companies… They charge upwards of $10,000 for a video but then you think of how their YouTube network is 65,000+ and the fact the actually get traditional press for a lot of their stuff as well… I am trying to get one of my clients that has a bigger budget to consider doing something like this for promoting themselves.
