Creating Memories through Photo and Video

Monday Maine Maven

Today’s Monday Maine Maven is Joe Carpine, president of Digital Video Magic. Digital Video Magic is a full service digital video production/photography studio headquartered in Windham, Maine.

Digital Video Magic produces videos for television, Web, infomercials, sports, highlight videos, recruitment videos, wedding videos, slideshows and other broadcast mediums, as well as DVD distribution and transfer VHS to DVD.

They offer complete pre- and post- production capabilities from creative conception to digital 3D animation to musical score and sound effects.

Digital Video Magic also offers photography services. They specialize in action photos, senior class photos, commercial photography, photo restoration and much, much more. They also have their own portrait studio with green screen capabilities. When it comes to video or photography, Digital Video Magic does it all.

1.) Joe, with advancements in technology where people are using phones and iPads to take photos, how do you promote and differentiate the quality of the work you do?

The typical person might be able to afford an expensive camera or the latest editing software, but the difference is experience, creativity and vision. I like to emphasize to clients what they are paying for is the experience and expertise of the photographer and videographer.

2.) What types of marketing do you find are most effective to advertise your photography and videography?

The most effective way to advertise now is through social media. We are on Facebook and Twitter. The advantage of being in business for twelve years is word of mouth advertising.

3.) What is your favorite type of subject to photograph or create video for?

My favorite subject is sports. The past five years of being the photographer for the Portland Sea Dogs has been the most enjoyable time. I really love what I do.

I also enjoy weddings, dance recitals, family portraits, and commercial photography. I just love what I do. I love creating memories for my clients.

DVM did an AMAZING job w our wedding video. You don’t even notice them and the finish product is one that you will be proud to show your family and friends. We watch ours every year around our anniversary.

People will NOT be sorry hiring DVM. They are worth every penny.
