Update on Hayley Desjardins bone marrow drive and fundraiser

Published by Nancy Marshall under Uncategorized

Several weeks ago, on August 20  to be exact, I wrote in my blog about a Maine girl named Hayley Desjardins who has a rare blood disease. A bone marrow drive and fundraiser was organized at Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort in The Forks, which used to be one of my beloved PR clients. I am so pleased that everyone was able to pull together to help Hayley in her fight against this horrid disease. Continue Reading »

The intersection of PR and Social Media

Published by Nancy Marshall under Uncategorized

I was interested to read this article from Brian Pittman of Bulldog Reporter about the intersection of PR and Social Media. He said that sometimes you might only get five people reading your post on Twitter, or reading your blog, or whatever flavor of social media you’re using, but if those are the five people you are targeting, then you’ve potentially achieved your marketing goal. Where have all the comments gone?

Published by Nancy Marshall under Uncategorized

Remember that Pete Seeger song from the 70’s?  “Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing. I wanna know, where have all the flowers gone, long time ago-oh-oh.”  (I used to play my guitar and sing that song in my bedroom which had a purple shag carpet and purple walls.)

I’m not singing that song today. I’m singing the one about ‘Where have all the comments gone?”  My singing has the effect of driving people away, and now I am afraid that my blog is, too! Continue Reading »
