More On the Shoemaker’s Children
If you’ve been following this Maine PR Maven blog for any period of time, you have read about the process we have been going through to develop a new Web site for our own agency.
And you may know the saying “The Shoemaker’s Children Have No Shoes.” I understand why the shoemaker struggled to keep his own children in shoes. I feel his pain. When you have customers who want your products, you always feel that taking care of their needs is more important than taking care of your own.
But if you listen to the airline attendants when they do their safety drill at the beginning of every flight, then you know you need to put your own life mask on first, then you can take care of others’.
Even though we are very busy building Web sites and generating proposals for strategic marketing communications plans (which we call “Marshall Plans“), I decided last week that we needed to make our own Web site a real number one priority.
So my team, headed up by our amazing Internet Project Manager Eric Reynolds, launched our new site at the beginning of this week. It’s at www.marshallpr.com. Please check it out and let me know what you think by leaving a comment here. We are still tweaking it and receiving helpful feedback from friends across the country, particularly our associated agencies in the Alliance of Marketing Communications Agencies. Thanks friends!
It feels great to get our new site out there and already we have started ranking higher in the search engines due to some great SEO work done by Eric and Dianne Chamberlain in our office. Thanks to Amy Jean Charette for a great design.
Now that we have our own site online and producing great results in the search engines, we would be happy to talk to you about how we could help you with your new site. And if you need new shoes, I highly recommend www.zappos.com (unless you are a shoemaker, in which case I recommend that you set aside some time to make yourself a new pair of shoes right away….and don’t forget the kids, either).
