Historic Gondola Finds Home at Sugarloaf Hang Out

If you skied Sugarloaf ‘back in the day,’ you probably rode the famous Gondy!
Today, this beauty sits outside The Rack on the Sugarloaf access road complete with several pairs of vintage skis.
I met with Seth Wescott, Jeff Strunk and Chase McKendry today and they talked about how The Rack is like “Sugarloaf’s Living Room” during the midweek periods because people just like to hang out there after they go skiing.
Next week, however, it’s February School Vacation week so The Rack will be filled with throngs of happy skiers and snowboarders.
Waterville Nonprofit Featured at Maine Mall

Happy Friday! Here is a picture of the kiosk that Nancy Marshall Communications branded for The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers. It features a representation of art therapy projects created by students from the agency’s Teen Parent School Program.

The display will be at the Maine Mall in Portland through the end of March.
In addition to the art, the kiosk features posters, banners, how to sign up for the organization’s e-newsletter and business cards from the wonderful staff of the Waterville based nonprofit.

Drawings to Draw People in

Happy Friday! At yesterday’s “Governor’s Conference on Tourism” at Sunday River, NMC hosted caricature artist Jim Stinchfield to do drawings of people who came to our trade show booth.
It was a great draw and people lined up to have their drawings done!
Over 350 industry professionals gathered for the one-day event which was sponsored by L.L. Bean and coordinated by NMC.
NMC Honored by Friend and Client

Happy Friday! We at NMC were proud to be honored last night by a dear friend and client, The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers, at their annual dinner last night.
The Maine Children’s Home recognized us in helping increase donations through their website that we created and maintain and for our overall involvement in promoting their programs.
We were truly touched by the recognition and by the speakers at the dinner!

Full-Service PR: from Press Events to Press Treats

Happy Friday the 13! Yesterday, NMC organized a press conference in the State House Hall of Flags in Augusta, ME to announce the donation of 143-acres of land by the J.M. Huber Corporation to Baxter State Park.
We had our neighbors at Kennebec Chocolates in Augusta make these beautiful and delicious cupcakes that were decorated with edible moose antlers, brook trout, hummingbirds, and pine cones.
People were excited about the announcement, but they were also excited by the cupcakes!
Greg Glynn, NMC account executive, coordinated the event. He is pictured here with Bob Currie, vice president of communications for Huber.
Snow on the Mountain

Happy Friday! We are so happy that it’s snowing in the mountains today.
Who’s ready for a ski-weekend?

Someone shook the snow globe today, giving this Sugarloafer some great skiing and riding on Upper Timberline.

Attention Winter Enthusiasts
Today, NMC organized and helped celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony for Camp Do What You Wanna in Rangeley, Maine. Today’s Fab Foto shows a logging truck heading through Rangeley by the snowmobiles and ATVs available to rent for winter enthusiasts. Check out the website NMC designed for this recreational rental shop and general store at www.campdowhatyouwanna.com.
Have a very safe, healthy and happy New Year!
A Frosty Christmas After All

Happy Holidays! It looks like it will be a white Christmas here in Central Maine, after all.
When we peaked out the window this morning at our office in Augusta, we found one of the most beautiful and picturesque winter scenes imaginable – two little children building a snowman in the still-falling snow. The children didn’t cut any corners on this Frosty either—from the corncob pipe to the carrot nose, you can see why this snowman was worthy as our Friday Fab Foto.
Best wishes for a fun and safe holiday to you and yours!
A Festive Ride Home

Happy Friday! One of my favorite parts of the holiday season are the lights adorning houses, lawns, and businesses.
This week’s Fab Foto is of the Augusta rotary leading to Western Ave and Hallowell. Taken by NMC Interactive Marketing Manager Matt Rideout, seeing these decorations at night surely makes the ride home more enjoyable!
