Search Engine Optimization is an Investment in Marketing Success

Nancy Marshall Communications is part of a national alliance of agencies known as the Alliance of Marketing Communications Agencies. One of our partner agencies is Parlee Stumpf of Doylestown, PA.
Todd Parlee wrote this article on SEO and agreed ever so graciously to allow me to share his article on my blog. As Todd points out in this article, whatever efforts you put into search will come back to you many fold, so it is a good idea to make sure your website is optimized for the search engine spiders, those little critters that crawl through it every so often looking for those coveted key words.

I am constantly reminded of the beauty of “Search.” This week a prospective client approached us. After getting various details from them I asked the all-important question, “How did you hear about us?” Once again the reply, “I found your website using Google search.” That’s music to my ears. It should be music to your ears as well, dear reader.
Needless to say, we walk the walk. We have implemented the same Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Programs on our site as we do for our clients. Countless times we have proven that our SEO programs not only work for us but our clients too.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) firms were ready and willing to work their magic and boost your rankings by painstakingly building inbound links, stuffing keywords into your content and perhaps even performing some other questionable SEO practices.
Out of sight, Out of Mind
I once had a boyfriend who told me there are two sayings about relationships, and he wasn’t sure which one he believed in:
1. Out of sight, out of mind

Unfortunately for me, #2 above applied, so while I was missing him, he was forging a relationship with his new ‘winter’ girlfriend. Continue reading

Did you know that Google is more likely to give your website more exposure when people search for you if your website has been recently updated with new content and photos? Did you also know that Facebook is more likely to put your page in the “Top News” on the News Feed if you have posted links, and people have liked your content, especially photos and videos? Search Engine Optimization and Hats
by Matt Rideout, Interactive Marketing Manager, Nancy Marshall Communications
Ever seen the movie “Hackers”? Computer programmers can be pretty weird, and their terminology for computer stuff can reflect that. Today we’ll be looking at different two of those terms, specifically black hat and white hat search engine optimization. What are these, you ask? Call them yin and yang or good vs. evil. Each hat has its own culture of followers, code of ethics, as well as its plusses and minuses. Read on and I’ll dive right into the difference between these two styles of search engine optimization and what that means for you in the short-term and long-term. Continue reading
