Out of sight, Out of Mind

I once had a boyfriend who told me there are two sayings about relationships, and he wasn’t sure which one he believed in:

1. Out of sight, out of mind

2. Absence makes the heart grow fonder

This particular boyfriend was a ‘summer’ boyfriend who I had met at my summer camp. What I learned was that for him, #1 above applied. Once we left camp, I hardly ever heard from him again.  Unfortunately for me, #2 above applied, so while I was missing him, he was forging a relationship with his new ‘winter’ girlfriend.
