What’s a Maven?
Thanks to our friends at Wikipedia, we bring you this definition of a Maven:
A maven (also mavin) is a trusted expert in a particular field, who seeks to pass knowledge on to others. The word maven comes from the Hebrew, via Yiddish, and means one who understands, based on an accumulation of knowledge.

So our Maine Mavens are people who love Maine and who represent all the best of Maine: honesty, integrity, and earnesty. They may have expertise in one area or another, although I seem to be drawn to others who, like me, have taken a real interest in public relations, marketing and social media.
Maven – Great Word!
Thanks!

Nice to see you the other day! Thanks for sharing with me about this Maven concept. You truly are an expert and a wonderful resource to all of us her in Maine. Good luck taking this to the next step nationally.
All the best!

Scott:
It’s been great to get to know you and Laura through spinning and biking at the Y and out on the Maine roads. I am excited about the opportunity to help people across the country understand the intersection of traditional public relations and new social media marketing technologies. Thanks for your comment. See you at the Y!
